What does board-certified mean, and why is it important?
Board certification recognizes orthodontists who have gone above and beyond their minimum training to display their commitment to the field, their patients, and the highest quality of care. This mark of excellence is an honor the American Board of Orthodontics grants only the best orthodontists. While this is a voluntary achievement, many patients search for doctors with this distinction for added confidence they are receiving the best standard of care and expert training.
How is it achieved?
On top of the basic requirements needed to become a licensed orthodontist (dental school and residency), one must pass a rigorous written and clinical exam testing their expertise in diagnosis as well as treatment planning and high-quality patient care. Preparation for these exams takes hundreds of hours and puts professional judgment to the test.
Passing these exams is a feat that must be repeated every 10 years to ensure dedication to the field of orthodontics continues. After receiving board certification, orthodontists must also attend meetings in the field and other means of ongoing professional education to stay up-to-date with the latest advances.

Dr. Amirali Tahbaz
Dr. Tahbaz always knew he wanted to help people in his professional career. Once he visited the dentist for the first time himself, he decided on a dental school for the joy he saw other doctors bring to their patients. He earned his dental degree at the Pacific School of Dentistry and later received his orthodontic training and MBA at Roseman University of Henderson.
Passionate about helping his local community, Dr. Tahbaz appreciates the relationships he has made over the years with his patients. Establishing that connection with the families that come in over the long period of time that treatment can take is the most rewarding part of his job. Nothing makes him happier than to see the confidence boost and joy that comes with unveiling the final result of braces.
Dr. Mona Rezapour
Dr. Rezapour’s passion for dental work began as a teenager, but she discovered her love for orthodontics later in life after receiving braces herself. She likes to call her job a combination of both science and art! While completing her education, Dr. Rezapour discovered how quickly the world of orthodontics advances along with the technology getting better and better for patient experience.
She treats all her patients like family and loves to get to know them over long treatment periods. Truly valuing the connections she has had the opportunity to make in her profession, Dr. Rezapour strives to create an environment that patients want to come back to while they enjoy their time at Luv Braces. She wants her patients to enjoy the happiness that lasts a lifetime with the unveiling of their brand-new smiles.
